Described as a pianist with “superhuman coordination”, award-winning Bulgarian-American performer-composer Dr. Milen Kirov transcends genres, labels, and artistic boundaries. His first solo recital in New York City will present his latest piano music, which draws inspiration equally from the Western Classical tradition, American jazz, and Bulgarian folk music. Featuring polyphonic structures and improvisations, asymmetrical meters and grooves, modal and polymodal melodic and harmonic gestures, these pieces blur the lines between carefully crafted and notated music and free, spur-of-the-moment improvisations.
Milen Kirov is a Yamaha artist.
